I've been hoping to delay posting photos of my studio until the space is "finished." Why? I suppose it's because this project has taken me so long I'd like to be able to announce, "It's done!" Well, that's not going to happen anytime soon, so I thought you'd like to see the progress so far.
What the heck! Its a journey, isn't it?
Okay...here's my "almost done" studio. Remember, it's a work in progress...
Here's the view from the door entering the studio.

Remember those Flor carpet tiles? Well, they're all down now! A few pics of the process and the finished product.
Here's my little corner of the world.

Notice that I chose to create a solid color block of tiles under my chair. The tall shelves behind my chair hold my printer, scanner, Bose CD player and essential technical stuff like books, CDs, software, etc. The first cabinet unit, also behind my chair, holds my working baskets, binders filled with current projects. Those are all in the open area. I still have the cabinet below that which is empty right now. To the left of this unit are two file cabinets. Easy to reach! Maybe I'll stay caught up on filing.I need to set up my 2nd monitor on my desk. (The G5 is under my desk to the left...against the wall.) I'm currently looking for a little mobile laptop desk that won't take up much space, is on wheels and can be moved out of the way. My desk it too high for typing on my laptop. Plus, I want to keep the space as clear as possible.
It may not be done, but it's mine and I love it!
later...

Wow! I seriously love it, even if it's not finished. And seriously is a studio ever "finshed". Mine's not. and when it starts to feel that way, i re-arrange. Like i did this weekend. I have been looking forward to these pictures. loving them. and your new banner too. have a good thanksgiving, i know i will.

So what happened to the striped floor idea? Was it just too much? I saw that Kent covered it up with the beautiful wood floor. I really love the look. Hmmm. I may have to kick my wife out of the office and make it mine since she doesn't work from home anymore.

Woohoo! You're in! I'm thrilled for you. And the choices you made look lovely. It doesn't matter if things are not in their proper place yet; when you take your time to think it through, you have to redo less often. Take my husband ... please! Just kidding. Anyway, he's designing a model train layout in our garage. We moved everything that wasn't train related to the south wall -- wall cabinets, trash and recycle bins, freezer, etc.. Then 3-4 weeks later, he decides he wants to start on the south wall. Everything had to move and come down off the wall. Holes had to be patched and the wall repainted. :) See what I mean? Take it S-L-O-W and easy.
Thanks for sharing. I have my Renee's Room fix now and can wait for more pictures. :)

Hi there! I took an online class from you (LOVED IT!) and am now looking at covering a BIG room in FLOR tiles. See-there is brilliance operating here!! (grin) Can you tell me what you think of them? They have some lines available at Lowes and then the site has much more. Which line did you pick? Why picked? How hard to put in? Observations? Delivery time after order? Etc. etc.....I'm going for it and want my new room done NOW (I have stuff to make by golly!!). Happy new year and much excitement to you! Cheers, Holly
